Job Title: Senior Solar Engineer

Location: Phuket, Thailand

Position Summary:
The Senior Solar Engineer will be pivotal in navigating through the technical phases of solar project development, from ideation to installation, ensuring engineering excellence, and compliance with relevant standards. The incumbent will intertwine their expertise in AutoCAD, PVSyst, and various technical spheres to fabricate optimal, efficient, and sustainable solar energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Development & Design:
- Utilize AutoCAD to develop detailed solar PV system designs, including layout of solar modules, electrical cabling, and other system-specific features.
- Perform shading analysis, module layout optimization, and electrical schematic generation adhering to local codes and standards.

2. Simulation and Analysis:
- Execute comprehensive energy production simulations using PVSyst to estimate energy yields and optimize system performance.
- Conduct savings calculations.

3. Project Implementation:
- Oversee and manage the installation of solar PV systems ensuring compliance with design specifications and optimal system performance.
- Engage in on-site supervision during system installation and coordinate with installation teams, ensuring projects adhere to predetermined timelines and budgets.

4. Integration and Commissioning:
- Supervise and engage in the system commissioning process, ensuring systems are operational as per the design intent.
- Facilitate grid connection processes, liaising with relevant utilities and ensuring compliance with grid connection requirements.

5. Quality Assurance:
- Implement and oversee quality control processes throughout project lifecycles, ensuring all installations meet internal and external engineering standards.
- Verify the integrity and performance of installed systems, ensuring they align with expected outcomes and client requirements.

6. Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure project objectives and expectations are transparent and achieved.
- Provide technical support and consultation throughout the project, ensuring all stakeholder inquiries and concerns are aptly addressed.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.

- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar PV system design and installation, with a demonstrable portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD for solar PV design.
- Extensive experience using PVSyst or equivalent software for system performance simulation and analysis.
- Hands-on experience in solar PV system installation and commissioning.

- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in conducting economic and energy savings calculations.
- Proficient in electrical works and understanding of grid connection processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

- Certifications:
- Accreditation from a recognized solar or renewable energy association would be an advantage.
