Position Title: Examination Invigilator
Location: BCIS Phuket

Reporting To: Examinations Officer
Working Hours: 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday (hours may vary according to the examination timetable)
Contract Period: 29 September 2026 to 12 November 2026
Role Purpose
BCIS Phuket is seeking reliable, professional, and highly organised individuals to join the examinations team as Examination Invigilators for the October/November examination series.
Reporting directly to the Examinations Officer, and Head of Centre Examination Invigilators are responsible for ensuring that all examinations are conducted securely, fairly, and in full accordance with Cambridge International regulations and school procedures. Invigilators play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring all candidates receive a consistent and equitable examination experience. Cambridge defines invigilators as the adults responsible for the conduct of examinations, examination security, the prevention of malpractice, and the prevention of administrative errors.
This position requires availability throughout the entire examination period, including the October school holiday period.
Key Responsibilities
Before Examinations
Attend all mandatory invigilator training and briefing sessions.
Become familiar with Cambridge examination regulations and school procedures.
Assist the Examinations Officer in preparing examination venues.
Set up examination rooms in accordance with seating plans and examination regulations.
Display required examination notices and candidate information.
Ensure desks, clocks, and examination materials are correctly prepared.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of examination materials at all times.
Welcome candidates into the examination venue and support a calm and orderly start to examinations.
Verify candidate identity and attendance where required.
During Examinations
Actively supervise candidates throughout examinations.
Ensure examination regulations are followed at all times.
Maintain a quiet, secure, and supportive examination environment.
Patrol the examination room regularly and remain vigilant.
Respond appropriately to candidate queries in accordance with examination regulations.
Monitor attendance and maintain accurate examination records.
Escort candidates when required under examination procedures.
Identify and report suspected malpractice, misconduct, or irregularities immediately.
Follow all instructions issued by the Examinations Officer.
Provide full attention to examination duties and undertake no unrelated activities while invigilating. Cambridge regulations require invigilators to focus entirely on the conduct of the examination.
After Examinations
Supervise the orderly conclusion of examinations.
Ensure candidates remain seated until instructed to leave.
Collect, count, and check all examination scripts and materials.
Assist with packaging and securing examination papers for return.
Report any incidents or concerns to the Examinations Officer.
Prepare examination venues for subsequent sessions.

Training Requirements
Successful applicants must complete mandatory invigilator training before undertaking any examination duties.
Training will include:
Safeguarding training
The role and responsibilities of invigilators.
Cambridge examination regulations.
Examination security procedures.
Prevention and reporting of malpractice.
Candidate conduct requirements.
Procedures before, during, and after examinations.
Emergency and contingency arrangements.
School-specific examination procedures.
Cambridge requires all invigilators to receive appropriate training before an examination series and to participate in annual refresher training where applicable.
Essential Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a good standard of spoken and written English.
Be able to communicate clearly and professionally.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Be able to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
Have the ability to follow procedures accurately.

Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Be legally eligible to work in Thailand.
Desirable Requirements
Previous experience as an examination invigilator.
Experience working in a school or educational environment.
Familiarity with Cambridge International examinations.
Experience supervising groups of young people.
Basic computer and administrative skills.

Working Conditions

Examination sessions may occur in different venues across the school campus.
